This past week, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase Luminwaves at our prototype presentation booth as part of the ongoing development journey. It was truly rewarding to see visitors engage with the installation and share their thoughts on our work. The concept, which transforms the Avon River into a digital canvas that responds to movement, resonated deeply with many attendees. We received wonderful feedback on how interactive and immersive the experience felt, with participants expressing excitement at watching their movements create dynamic ripples and currents in real-time.
A frequent highlight was the sheer engagement from attendees, who loved experimenting with different gestures and seeing their influence on the projected river come to life. Many remarked on the powerful symbolism of their interactions and the beauty of the flowing visuals. It was a reminder of how art and technology can bridge the gap between people and nature in a meaningful way.
However, amidst the positive feedback, we also noted some valuable insights. There was a suggestion that while our Kinect sensor works well for close and mid-range movements, a stronger device could enhance the experience even further. This feedback is pushing us to consider upgrading to a more robust sensor capable of capturing interactions from greater distances. Such an upgrade would allow users to engage more freely with the installation, expanding the range of movement and creating an even more immersive experience.
Moving forward, we’re excited to explore these potential changes and further refine Luminwaves. Our goal is to create an installation that captivates, engages, and sparks reflection on our connection to nature and with your support and feedback, we’re well on our way to making that vision a reality. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, interacted with Luminwaves, and shared your thoughts. Your insights are helping shape what this project will become. Stay tuned for more updates!
